There are a maybe four or five jobs that I’ve been dreaming about. It’s hard to rate them in order of preference, but there is one that I’ll only have the chance to do while I’m here - getting a USRA grant and doing research. I missed the deadline last year, but this year I’ve been very careful not to. It sounds like there’s a decent possibility that I’ll get a placement… I’m really really really (did I say really?) excited about this!!! However, it’s obviously not certain yet. It sounds like I’m the only candidate, but the deadline is in a month…
Ye gods, this would be the most amazing summer job ever! I’d be working with two of my heroes, following in their footsteps… These next few weeks are going to be difficult, since I won’t know whether I’ll get the job or not. I’m so excited, but at the same time I don’t want to work myself up and then not get the job…

*sigh*

In any case, this really made my day. It was nice to end like this after the SQ interview. It went ok, but not extremely well. It was pretty fun though. We’ll know by Tuesday what’s going on apparently. I’ll go to the second interview if I get one, but if they offered me the job now I’d turn it down. Even the _chance_ of a USRA like this is worth it.
