Take that Fluids homework! Yes, I finally bothered/managed to finish a mech 241 assignment. This is the first one in several weeks that I’ve done. It may even be the second one I’ve completed since week one…
I found a great place to do work! Up on the top floor of Douglas there are two huge open rooms with big church style stained glass windows and rows of wooden tables and chairs. It’s very quiet, and nice and bright, all in all, an awesome place to get things done as opposed to wasting my time on the net. On the floor below, they have record players and a rather small collection of records, including Raffi, Star Wars, and around 20 sound effects records. I need to go to the library more often.
As far as the people stuff go, I’m still feeling frustrated about groups. I wonder how much of this has to do with the time of year. I always seem to feel somewhat out of sorts in the spring.
I’ve been thinking about when I and other people smile. People don’t seem to really smile like we did when we were younger. I know I used to, and rarely do anymore. When I started working at Bridgehead I did. People would comment on it, how it made their day to see a real smile when they went to get their coffee. I think working there really affected how much I smile. It’s hard to keep being happy about a job that quickly becomes stressful and annoying. Very few people can be friendly (really friendly, not fake friendly like Sandi was) for much longer than a few weeks/months in the service and retail industry.
That year was useful in some senses. I certainly can understand where people who work in such places are coming from now. Mostly the year was a big dissapointment though. I wish I could’ve actually taken the year off of formal school and work. It would have been so much more useful!!! It makes me so angry to think about it now. How much did the bloody job earn me anyway? Not even enough for tuition. I still would’ve gone to work for the summer for sure. Yay for a soul crushing job being a “requirement” in many older people’s eyes. Just like school.
