I, perhaps unwisely, accepted the invitation to play basketball with five twenty something boys, who are all taller, faster, and stronger than me. It was certainly fun, although I pulled at least one hamstring and am having some difficulty walking around today. Hopefully I’ll get into shape fairly quickly and manage not to permanently injure myself in the process.
Running around until being on the verge of heat stroke seems to have the unintended consequence of allowing me to sleep last night, even through the disgusting heat. I should have left the windows open. I opened the windows this morning and felt a beautiful cool breeze for the first time in a week or so. It was 24 according to my thermometer on the balcony. I left the windows open all day. It felt very decadent to be able to wear a sweatshirt on my walk home.
I now have food. It’s terribly exciting. I ordered some stuff from Desert Lake Gardens to be delivered today, so I’d put off buying things like yogurt, applesauce, milk, flour, etc. It was getting a bit excessive. Now I can have cereal, and pancakes, and tempeh, and yogurt with maple syrup… mmmmm. The only problem is that Trevyn is coming to visit this weekend, and I’m afraid there isn’t much here that he’ll like.
