Sweet deal! I am _so_ getting the winter bike out tomorrow! The “strong wind event” might be somewhat less fun though. I wonder if I’ll be able to ski to class…

Heavy snowfall warning for
Kingston - Odessa - Frontenac Islands continued
15 to 25 cm of snow by Thursday evening.
This is a warning that heavy snow is imminent or occurring in these regions. Monitor weather conditions..Listen for updated statements.
An Alberta clipper is intensifying into a winter storm as it races southeast across the upper Great Lakes to reach the Lake Ontario area by morning then into upstate New York Thursday. This storm is expected to generate a widespread high impact snow and strong wind event across much of the province.
Weather radar and surface observations show that a wall of snow in advance of this storm has reached as far as a Kincardine to Kitchener to Hamilton line early this evening. The snow will continue to spread east across the Golden Horseshoe and ski country this evening then into eastern Ontario later tonight. Snowfall amounts of 15 to 25 cm are likely along with drifting and some blowing snow as winds pick up out of the west on Thursday.
Snowsqualls will also develop off Georgian Bay and Lake Huron overnight and Thursday. These will create bands of particularly dangerous conditions with near zero visibilities in heavy snow and blowing snow which will extend well inland from the lakes. Conditions will slowly improve by Friday although some residual snow and snowsqualls will continue. Some thunder is also possible with the strongest snowsqualls.
Strong winds out of the west at 60 gusting to 90 km/h will compound the situation on Thursday in southwestern Ontario and over Prince Edward county. These winds will create near zero visibilities in whiteout conditions in the heavier flurries and snowsqualls..And will also be capable of causing some tree damage and bringing down power lines.
This may be a dangerous storm. Travel conditions will quickly deteriorate tonight and will become extremely hazardous due to whiteout conditions from heavy snow and blowing snow. Temperatures will also plunge Thursday as the snowsqualls strengthen adding to the dangerous travel conditions with icy and snow covered roads in many areas.
Heavy snowfall warnings may also be extended into the national capital area later tonight or Thursday as necessary.
