					<description>Adina,

London and Dr. Who? Yes Dr. Who. As you have arrived in the home of Luther and some of the finest theologians of the last century I am thinking of the impact of the recent foiling of attacks upon American bases in Germany. It has of course conveniently come at the time when George Bush is about to address the nation with "Stay the course. I have been right all along. Iraq is a war against terrorists." And Canadians seem to be beginning to support an endless conflict in Afghanistan with cries of "It is a noble war. Our men and women are fighting just to stabilize the Afghan government. Look at all the terrorists we are killing." Sigh, your left wing pacifist father finds this all so depressing. I imagine that Europe has a more enlightened population but then perhaps I am dreaming. The French have elected a Neo-Con set on destroying what civility they had in social policy and Germany has a right wing women leading it at the present moment... How are the German Greens different from the Green party in Canada? I always thought they were more like the NDP and Democratic Socialists and had made the connection between human society and ecological concerns. When do you start WWoofing? How is the German coming? What is Germany like? I will keep watching for updates on your blog page. Oh, is the photo at the top of the Chief? And now I try and get myself going on Sunday's liturgy and sermon.

					<description>Hey Dad and Wade,
Dad: I'm not sure exactly how the German greens are different. I've been skimming the paper as well as I can, but it's not so easy for me to understand everything, given my limited vocabulary. My German has definitely improved, even in just a week, but I still can't communicate very well - rather, I can make myself understood, and ask questions that make some sense (although the grammar is pretty terrible), but I have a hard time understanding what people say to me. Ah well, with practise, it'll get better. It's certainly already better than it was before! The farming is fun, though I haven't done very much work yet. I'll write more of that in a proper blog post. That's not the chief, actually, but it's across the street. Do you remember when we went on that hike at christmas in the park with the lake (the one that's good for swimming). We couldn't find the right path, and we ended up walking along a path that took us to a place where people could do wall climbing? That's where the photo is from.

Wade: Yay intarwebs! I shall try to post reasonably often.

Love you both!</description>
